Chrome lined Rem SP ?

Saw an old Remingtonpamphlet on 870 Special Purpose shotguns. The pamphlet stated that they had chrome lined barrels!

1 - anybody ever heard this before and know if it's correct?

2 - if this is correct, does the 11-87 SP also have a chrome lined barrel?

I had a hard time believing the pamphlet was for real since this is the first time I have heard this.

Remington had offered chrome lined barrel's back in the 80's. A buddy of mine had a fixed Full choke 1100 with a chrome lined barrel. I don't recall the 1187's being offer with it but they may have.

I wonder, How can you tell if a barrel is chrome lined ?
