Ithaca choke question

Anyone know what compatible choke tube can be used in a King Ferry, N.Y. made Ithaca Mod 87 (2 3/4 & 3") vent rib barrel (not Turkeyslayer model)?
Is it the Win/Invector/Mossberg tube or the TRU-Choke tube?

Do you have the gun or access to it? The best way to determine which choke it uses is to take a look and compare it to both Tru-Choke and Win-Choke examples. I have seen guns, that by their manufacture date, should use one type with the other. Tru-Choke has 44 TPI and Win-Choke has 32 TPI.

All of the Ithaca Model 37's which I own, or have worked on, and King Ferry post acquisition Model 87's, including the run of guns made for Chas. Daly, were threaded w/ the Browning Invector/Winchester configuration.  Per Clark's suggestion, clean the choke threads thoroughly, and gently thread in a choke tube.  I think that only the initial production of model 37's w/ threaded barrels utilized the Tru-Choke configuration.  PM me with any questions or choke and load suggestions about King Ferry marked model 37's.  I've hunted w/ and shot 37's for over 35 years, and started turkey hunting w/ one about 1983 when Mark Bansner cut and sleeved a barrel to .665.

Thanks guys, you've both been a big help (as usual).
The barrel should be here in a few days and then I'll take a look. I already bought a new old stock Star-Dot (Win/Inv/Moss) and a " Ithaca 37 Turkeyslayer N.Y. .665 choke" as it was listed on Ebay. The barrel is going on a mint 1975 mod 37 (Deluxe?). I'm going to try out some 2 3/4" HeviShot 6's (through the StarDot) and some Win Supreme silver box 5's. Do you have any other recommendations as far as shells go? I already have an 870 that shoots great 3" (shell) patterns. I'm just looking to go old school to change it up. (I'm old, just not "paper shot shell old" lol..)

The "old" StarDot tubes were designed by Mark Bansner and most were choked .665.  Several years ago, I was patterning an Ithaca Mod. 37 for a friend who wanted to find a good 23/4" turkey load for his son.  Utilizing a StarDot choke tube and shooting Fiocchi Golden Pheasant 13/8 oz., 1250 fps, 6's and 5's, produced great 35-40 yard patterns w/ an even 20" core.  Fiocchi uses a high antimony, nickle plated shot in that load which has excellent penetration w/ minimal bore deformation.  If you can find them, the old Activ, 23/4", 5's and 6's, which had either 41/2 dram eq. 11/2 oz or 4 dram eq. 13/4 oz nickle plated loads are the best 23/4" shell which I ever evaluated.

I got the barrel yesterday and it does in fact have the Win/Invector thread pattern. I'll probably go next week and put some rounds through it and see what I can come up with.

Change in plans though re: the M-37.
I just scored (stole it actually) a like-new M-87 Deerslayer off of Gunbroker which takes 3" shells. So I'll be putting the barrel on that one making it a dedicated turkey gun. I'll be trying out the Pure Gold, HEVI Choke, Star Dot and maybe the factory Turkeyslayer choke. I'm trying out HEVI 3-2-6's, Mag Blends & Win L.B. 5's (I'm sure my shoulder will thank me at the end of that session).
