Fall hunting
« on: October 05, 2015, 01:41:26 PM »
Got out over the weekend for the Fall archery turkey season and had some success. Birds were gobbling good Saturday but didn't work so I moved on. The afternoon was just me. I found sign but didn't see or hear any, mostly due to the wind. Sunday morning and another area. Nothing again. I like to read and nothing else to do so I stay all day. At 12:00 I called and got a response from a wooded draw behind me. A lone adult hen came out but wouldn't finish off or leave. So after making a few adjustments in the ground blind to shoot out the back side I dropped her in her tracks. Found more birds in a different spot in the pm for next weekend. Saw a couple deer too so it's game on.
When I turkey hunt I use a DSD decoy
