M2 20 gauge chokes: Sumtoy or Trulock or ?

Newby for next season:  I took the plunge and ordered a M2 Compact (24") and am open to your suggestions for choke.  Beginners luck, I found several boxes of Federal HTL #7 3", on sale no less...so that's the shell I'll be using.  Should I get both the Trulock (their specific choke for that shell: F7CRP20SPL) and Sumtoy (562-5) and see which patterns better?  or another you suggest?
Before I found the ammo I picked up a Primos Tight Wad at Walmart for $5; but I understand now that the Federal HTL shell is best shot from a choke without ports (which the Tight Wad has) due to the Flitecontrol wad. Is that correct?...or should I try this choke with this shell too?

In that regard, what am I realistically looking for as far as pellet count @40yards in the 10" circle?  If I understand my research here correctly, then it should be at least 100 pellets, correct?  Lastly, will these chokes with this shell be so tight as to cause misses at closer ranges (perhaps <25yards)?

Thanks for all your comments.

Buy them all and try them all. I use a Sumtoy in all my guns

Do not overlook the Carlsons choke. It is too inexpensive not to try it. Seen some stellar M2 / Fed 7 patterns with it.

BowBendr/dejake:  Which Carlsons specifically would you recommend? (Non-ported, right?...but what constriction?)(I came across several positive reviews here of the Carlsons .575, but I don't see that choke even offered on the website).

Also, I've been trying for a couple of days to reach someone at Sumtoy...all I get is the voicemail...does anybody know if they are open for business right now?  Any recommendations when a good time would be to get someone on the phone?

I have the 575 non-ported.  I got mine from Cabela's.  I shoot HW 7s out of it.  I have a Franchi Affinity, which is pretty much the same as the M2, and I get a great pattern.  It was the second choke/shot combination that I tried, and I didn't see any need to experiment with anything else.  This season I was 4 for 4 with ranges from 12 yards, to 32 yards.  I'd be confident at 40 yards all day long.

THIS MIGHT NOT BE YOUR CHOICE
I PUT THIS ONE ON MINE AND GOT A VERY EVEN PATTERN
I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE PATTERN

noisy box call that seems to sound like a flock of juvenile hens pecking their way through a wheat field

I guess Carlson's doesn't make a .575 anymore for the Benelli Crio/Crio Plus system (which the M2 is).  They seem to offer the .575 in the Mobil Choke version.  However, they make a .580 for the Crio.  Is this close enough to what you guys were suggesting?...wonder why that one they make 5 thousands bigger.

Call Shane at Carlson's and explain what you want and they will take care of you.  Real nice folks to work with.

Yes, you need around 100/10 @ 40 to ensure a clean kill. With 3" HW 7s, you can expect around 180/10 with the right choke. William @ ST has achieved that many, many times. I would expect Trulock, and Rob Roberts to be able to do that as well. Didn't know Carlson's did custom work, but if they do, I'm sure they can provide a great choke as well. There are a lot of TSS shooters using Carlson's with great results in the 20 ga.

Not saying 180\10 cant be done, but I know of 5 different 20ga M2's that cant do it and we have a small fortune tied up in chokes. All of these guns have the Crio barrels and our best patterns have came from chokes in the .565-.570 range. We all were using the Federal HWT 3" 7s... I have switched to TSS because of this.
