burris 336 mount for 870

had a speed bead, it didn't work well for the 870, not enough adjustment even with the shims, and will not work at all with the new thumbhole boyds stock. I have the ability to get my receiver drilled and tapped by a local. but I keep seeing and hearing good things about the 336 mount. so you guys are positive it will work and mount on an 870

is it a single piece, when I look to order it sometimes it has 2 vertical holes that would mount parallel with the receiver but some pics show 2 horizontal holes.. id hate to by the wrong thing

Just buy the one labeled for a Remington, most of the eBay photos and on the other gun sites like brownells have a stock photo description that may be for a different model but won't be what you'll get. Yes it is a one piece. It should have 2 horizontal and 2 vertical. 2 holes for drill and tap to receiver and 2 for the FF to mount to.

Sorry to hijack but is there a 336 mount  now specifically for the 870?  I have been out of the loop for the last year.  This will be great if so!
