Titanium pot call

Going to order a Sinclair titanium. I want it in cocobola I believe , but I don't know what size. So to all you titanium users should I go with a 3" , a 3-1/4" or 3-1/2". Also any other preference on type of wood for the pot?

He has nice calls. I had his Titanium 3-1/4  -  it made a awesome purr and cluck... I just couldn't get the yelp a consistent sound all the time.  could have been my strikers, or just plan user error.

Thanks , I know that metallic calls can be finicky. I found with my copper and brass calls that it requires a little more practice and a little different technique when running them.

They also require more conditioning to get broken in correct.. my understanding is they get better with time.   But I just stick with glass and slate...

I went with the 3.5" because I was afraid it would be too high pitched if I went smaller and I already have pots that are high pitched.  If you play near the edge it will go a little higher though and of course different strikers are certainly a variable to take into account.

My Hickory Titanium is 3 ¼"

Titanium is pretty hard and is not easy to condition the first time but the surface doesn't wear out quickly either.

If u guys are getting inconsistent yelps from titanium and it  sounds like u are try hitting it with 80 grit sand paper or dry wall screen ( I do mine in circles )   it will help keep a consistent sound ,,,like steve says its tuff stuff wont wear like a softer metal

Try box call chalk. I use it on the ones I make and it really doesnt need much conditioning then. Just clean it with a scotchbrite pad add some new chalk and your ready to go.
