Browning BPS and Burris FF III...What mount?

I am actually interested in the scope base you have mpunted on the Bps.  I don't particularly care for the browning one it sits fairly high and has only two slots.  The base on yours seems to be different than the browning one.

Da-Mar is the manufacturer.  I know Brownells sells those, but I'm not sure they have the particular model (#4) that fits the BPS anymore.

Da-mar gunsmiths in Weedsport, NY (about 2 hours north of me) makes the scope base. I haven't found anything more solidly built. Give them a call 1 315 834 9156.

Very nice gun by the way! I will give choate a try, and if they don't have any, at least I know what to keep an eye out for now. I will definitely let you know if I find any. I really wish they'd build a tactical turkey version of the BPS. I suspect the thumb safety has something to do with it but that has never been an issue for me. I actually prefer it.
 
They're the most solid built pump gun I've found. A good trigger job and some barrel work makes them even more deadly...

Agreed.  I was a little too late in finding that pistol grip stock, though.

Yeah I'll probably look into adapting a stock from another model for the next one if the choate is NLA.

You would think with browning making a tactical, turkey, and predator model of the bps some manufacturer would jump on it. Boyds makes a thumbhole stock that's pretty nice, but the models they have only fit the post 98 model 3" 3.5" 12 and 10gauge  bps.  I had ordered one for my bps 10, but my gun is a '91 and it didn't match up quite right as they changed the mounting slightly after 98. I think I could have made it work with a few mods, but I just didn't have time then to play around with another project so I returned it. May try another one down the road if I get some time to fiddle with it.

They don't make one for a 20 ga. 870 either.  I don't really want to drill & tap my grandad's wingmaster.

For a dedicated turkey gun I prefer a rail on the receiver. I do understand not wanting to drill and tap a gun that has sentimental value but my turkey guns will only ever be turkey guns.
At least until I'm gone then someone else can piss and moan about them being drilled and tapped I guess.
