After what looked like it could've been a bleak morning with no birds found in the known roosting spot turned into a quick run n gun hunt with a good friend of mine. After abandoning our original spot where I thought the bird was rooster we reorganized and drove around to a higher point and walked and called a bit waiting for a response. When we got one we set up quickly as he sounded like he was getting closer. He showed himself at about 55 yards and made it to 38 before I had a clear shot when he saw something he didn't like but it was too late for the old bird.
21lbs 9" beard and 1 1/4" spurs. My best turkey yet.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
