Some kind of weird abscess

Found this on the bird I shot on 04-21-2015.  I assume he got it fighting, but it looked dry and healed for the most part.  I didnt even see the wound till I had him skinned.

I tossed this leg and thigh.

I didn't see an exit wound and no wound channel, but I didn't dig in it either.
