Well after a lot of looking and ordering, playing calls and fiddling with a dozen or more strikers I finalized my pot calls for this year's vest.  :z-guntootsmiley:

Platz crystal/slate in walnut. Sneed Outlaw Hen. Halloran Crystal Mistress. H.S. Strut Glass Witch.

It was tough to retire some that killed birds for me and two of them were real close in the running but whese four sound so good and play so well they got the nod. Now to get my mouth calls bought and broke in. :OGturkeyhead:

Nice bunch of calls right there. Good luck with them!

I've settled on 2 go to calls. A crystal mistress and a Dawkins slate I just got. My lights out aluminum is a close 3rd and it will go out a few times as well.

only four? how can you go into the woods? nice calls   i carry six to seven in my vest at all times  i learned a long time ago up around green city mo. to  be prepared for any thing called at a gobbler for almost two hours using everything in my vest  just to miss at 15 yrds(tight choke aim at his head)

I pack enough strikers to play multiple tunes and I run a couple different mouth calls too. Two of the pots in that pic have been retired already. Been out seven of the ten days so far and they didn't pull a single gobble. Replacing them with my Zink Power Hen slate and Lonzo double glass birdseye maple. Been close a bunch of times but am getting cut off by hens before they get into range.

I don't really think it's fair to the makers. They are all great sounding calls even though my birds don't like them. I posted a bird this morning so you can eliminate one of them b/c it's next to the turkey.
