Years ago, you would get in the woods an hour before daylight, and hear a lonesome gobbler, gobbling his arse off non- stop till daylight? Or a crow around mid-noon harrasing a gobbler, with non-stop gobbling? Boy I miss them days, they just don't beg to be killed like they use too?

How about the days were there very  few hunters and even less turkeys in Pa, Now a bird gobbles and 9  guys hear it.. The late 70's and early 80's where the good times.
Don't gobble at me...

Very true, can't speak for the 70's though, didn't turkey hunt then.  But yes, less hunters and less turkeys, but better hunting.

Im in ohio and agree....we are on a big downswing.   1997-2000 there was a gobbling bird on literally every point on many properties we hunted.  It was common to hear 6-8 birds on a 100-150 acre property.  We are at the point where you are sitting pretty if you hear one on 150 acres.  our high kill was 26,000 and change.   We stay 16-18,000 now.   hopefully it cycles back up.

I think low numbers can be a blessing in disguise. When the hunting gets tough less people will hunt. Only the diehards will be out there and it'll be more enjoyable again.

I'm looking forward to it too!
I'm not a Christian because I'm strong and have it all together. I'm a Christian because I'm weak and admit I need a Saviour!

True, that's why I like late Season, many have given up after not hearing much.
