Val Shot Her First Turkey This Morning

My daughter Val shot her first turkey today, she could not be more proud of herself. She has wanted to kill a turkey for some time. The hunt happened pretty fast with a few mishaps. I called the turkey in with a box call and my daughter had her gun on the bird but the gun would not fire. We had unloaded the shotgun from the last trip and did not reload the gun. Luckily I put out a low ground blind made of netting on stakes because she does fidget when trying to sit still. She was able to fish a shell out of her pocket and slid the gun to me behind the netting and I was able to load and close the action quietly. Val was able to make the shot; she is one happy young lady.

That is awesome! Congratulations to you both!
A veteran is someone who, at one point, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America' for an amount of 'up to and including their life.'
That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons. However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
