I started to pm this question but figure it would be a great thing for everyone to see. I do some custom long range rig building mainly in the 7s for ballistic coefficients but havn't been able to put my finger on the following solution..
Fed HW #6&7s at 1300 vs Hevi 13 6&7s at 1090.
I have their densities and their MV but can't really get an idea on how to figure a BC to plug into a equation to determine drop and Foot pounds of energy at various ranges.. I guess one could get a diameter measurement and do a resistant coefficient.. In the end I was hoping someone could or has already generated a FP chart for say out to 70 yds as a good comparison between the two..
It would seem to me that a Hevi 13- 6 or 7 would be perfecto for out to 40 due to the additonal payload but what if you twitch, sneeze , roll over bent all up crooked like before and need a follow up at 65.. I am betting then that Fed HW 7s with the speed and additional density are better for your Hail Marry.
And Yes I have lost a bird and on film, what a valuable tool that was. May I add that was the last day I ever slung copper plated lead at a Tom. I know this is overkill but I am curious.
