Diamondwood striker

I have a question for the pot call gurus.....
I have quite a few pots, with most of the being slate, and a couple being glass.
I have heard that diamond wood(sp?) is great for pots, and was thinking about getting a couple.
Does anyone have an opinion on this? Is there a call maker that anyone would recommend?
Thanks in advance,

Mike

I just bought a Hook's dymondwood and I will give a shot in May during the NY season. I went with the Hook's since they have a great reputation.

Thats all I sell with my pots anymore.  Although I have other materials, 99.9% of the time, my calls sound better with DW.

Thank you gentlemen.
Now, I like to run a flared tip striker. Does the shape of the tip matter?

Thats personal preference.  Some say they like them, because they are easier to run, yet I know guys that won't even use them.  I make them however they want them, to me, the sound is no differance.

Anyone have a War Hammer? Any good? Decent price on EBay for them.

Bill Lyman makes a flare tip that's an awesome striker.

Try a Dad's in charcoal or rainbow laminate. Love how the play and the tip is great, half of my strikers are Dad's at this point. My favorite is his purpleheart.

In my humble opinion...there is no better dymondwood striker than those made by Steve Torman ;)
