Does removing barrel change zero?

I've always just left mine alone thinking it was just like if you had an optic on it. Learn something new everyday but it makes sense

A loose barrel can cause scattering of the shot. That cap is the real key to performance of those guns. Being tightened consistently is important.

Luckily, my gun likes a dirty barrel.  Once sighted in, I half-fast dry clean it before the opener, then don't touch it till after the season.

i will say this if u camoflauge ur rifle it will. one day i sighted in my 22 mag legal to use in wv. but rarely ever use it. anyways it was dead on as i was saying i go home camoflauge it up next day i go out on my back porch and notice a crow about 75 yds away in a the field under the feeder go back in get my gun got a good solid rest and shot and it just flew away. i thought there aint no way i missed that thing. later on that day still wondering how i missed that crow. i go get a piece of paper drew a circle on it stapled it to my target board. and that gun was shooting a foot high i shot 3 times to confirm it. i did not bump the gun or anything to knock it off sight. the next morning had 3 crows under the feeder one of them didnt make it. the only time i use a rifle for turkey is when i already got one.i let them get a atleast within 20 yds and try to hit them in the head. its easier said then done.
