Cold weather turkey hunts

It's gonna be cold this weekend here in alabama 31 in the morning y'all ever hear gobblin on cold mornings

Two of my best hunts occurred with a 29 degree low.  Gobbled their brains out and came quickly.

I was duck hunting in January on an untypically cold morning in January a couple seasons back...  Surprisingly, birds were gobbling like crazy...  Actually surprised me, not only being so early, but being untypically cold...

Best time to go hunting is when you can...  But, I do think that a warm day after a cold front has passed through probably provided the most action for me...

Here in NY, I prefer cold crisp mornings when I go out in may. It usually warms up quick but it just feels like those birds can't wait to get out of those trees fast enough after sitting there all night. Last year I shot a nice one on a morning like this and it was an awesome hunt......

Early season cool mornings is good, they are very active here during that time. It warms up fast and they move well

Clear frosty mornings are amazing for gobbling here in Illinois, not sure if those southern birds will respond the same way?

I love a cold crisp morning.. A blustery cold wind on the other hand will shut them up fast

Cold weather is usually good. Wind and rain with the cold not so much. But like others have said. A crisp, calm, cool morning usually equals heavy gobbling. At least in the Midwest

I never cared for cold windy days but that said I was hunting a couple of years ago and the wind was so hard the trees were doubled over and my blind kept trying to blow away. I was thinking im an idiot for being out there and was ready to pack it in .
I decided to make some very loud yelps on my box call and although I hadn't heard a turkey all morning a gobble answered me !! and low and behold here he came. He got to ride in my chevy lol

To my experience, they gobble really well on cold, crisp mornings, as long as it is clear skies. Wind will shut them down though. The only place I've done well in the wind was in Oklahoma, where the wind always blows.
