Scope mounting help

I accidentally posted this earlier in the shotgun section, so please delete if need be.

I am looking at adding a Leopold VX-1 1-4 x 20MM scope on an 870 supermag, and have a few questions on going about doing this.

Gun is probably about 10 years old, so I will need to get that drilled, are there particular rail and rings I should use?

Any other input would be appreciated.

I would suggest one of the multi slot bases from Weaver, EGW, Millet.  The multi slots will give you better ring spacing options.   As far as rings go I would use a quality brand as low as possible.
