Mo Dept of Conservation had set up a bait trap and net on our property and trapped 11 hens today.4 were fitted with bands/transmitters,all the rest were just banded.Got to help release a couple after the scientific part was taken care of.That makes 16 that they've transmitted/banded in the last 2 winters. 3 of the 5 jakes(now 2 yr olds)transmitted last year are still kickin. The other 2 were lost to coyote kills;all in the last 3 months.

Sounds like an interesting project
The addiction will cost you time and money and alienate those close to you. I can give you the names of a dozen addicts — myself included — whose wives begin to get their hackles up a week before turkey season starts and stay mad until a week after it closes.

Nesting and predation study. The lady heading the project said they had a hen killed this fall that was banded earlier in the fall that had traveled 12 miles from the place she was banded. She had never heard of one going that far, said 1-3 miles was usually average depending on habitat.

I killed one this fall that was banded with 100$ reward, they told me that I got it three miles from where they banded it  and it was a four year old. they banded it in 2010 as a poult.

Spring Creek Calls

Glad to hear MO is still active in turkey research. I've used MO as a reference point in multiple discussions with MI DNR in terms of turkey management.
