Magnum blend

Just curious as to weather Hevi shot straightened out the magnum blend. I shot the Longbeard #6 last year and got pretty good numbers, but the mag blend of 2013 put up better numbers. It also seemed that the blends blew them right off their feet. I shot one in 2013 and thought I missed but the hevi shot blew it off the road into the ditch lol.

The Magnum Blend shells are very impressive and most shooters who use them swear by them. I've killed turkeys with them in the past and can attest to how well the work. I continue to prefer the standard load however since it has less recoil and I know exactly what it will do, time and time again.

I found the magnum blends I shot to be great, but I found the longbeards to be cheaper. Both put up the numbers, but most importantly both killed the turkeys. I did find the recoil on the magnums rougher than the longbeards?

I usually hunt with a 3"-Hevi-13/#7 in the chamber and two Hevi-13/#6's in the magazine tube. Last season, I worked an old gobbler for about 30 minutes, gave him the "silent treatment" and had him slip in to about 30 yards.  When I shot it, the recoil literally stunned me, and when I got to the gobbler the devastation to the head and neck further stunned me.  It was only sometime later that I realized that I had shot the bird w/ a 3" MagBlend instead of my usual 7's.  I've killed a bunch of gobblers w/ the MagBlends and wouldn't hesitate to hunt w/ them in several of my guns which pattern them exceptionally well.   With that said, all of my MagBlends in both 3" and 31/2" are of the "old" lot numbers which I stocked up on based on their performance in my shotguns.  I'm "old school" in that I've seen too many instances where a manufacturer either messes up a "good thing" or discontinues it, so when when I find something which works for me I always buy two or stock up.

magmun blends give nasty patterns but the some power behind them which sucks for the shoulder

My 870 sm shoots wonderful patterns with the mag blend, however as the above stated kills the shoulder, I also could never get them to shoot straight always low left.

The magnum blends are somewhat potent and robust in percieved recoil

I shot a 20 gauge mag blend and it was a eye opener

The advantage with them is they are readily available unlike nitros
