There are several factors to consider. A full choke for a 12 gauge gun should have something like a .690 exit diameter. So, from that standpoint, it's pretty open. If it's a flush mounted, factory furnished choke, it may not be made from hardened steel and not rated for Hevi-Shot or any tungsten-based shot.
Bridging can occur with any type of shot but with hard shot, like steel or any tungsten based shot, bridging can cause a choke to swell or get a crease in it that can make it very difficult to remove or even damage your gun.
The last real consideration is that any choke that is threaded on the muzzle end must always be very well seated on the internal shoulder in the counterbore. That can be especially critical when shooting any hard shot, tungsten, steel, etc. If it's just slightly loose, problems can develop very rapidly.
