I'm visiting this site often and I'm always reading up on the best equipment and places to hunt.
I'm researching next spring's trip and I look for off-season closeouts on camo and gear.

Whenever I'm in the woods for deer season I'm also watching for turkey and turkey sign.
This off-season I plan on making a few calls.  Been saying that for a while but now I mean it. :toothy12:
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

Spring Creek Calls

Great time to pick up on equipment/calls that you need/want. Also, don't put off planning that spring trip you want to take.

Read and reread everything about turkeys I can. Keep on the lookout when I'm deer hunting, kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

I tell all my buddy's I'm seeing plenty of birds where I'm not seeing any, and telling them I'm not seeing any where I'm seeing plenty.  All with a straight face.  Keeps them wondering.
If I'm not back in five minutes, wait longer!

I make and practice running calls.  Always practice.
No trees were hurt in the sending of this message, however a large number of electrons were highly inconvenienced.

I sit and reflect about everything I did wrong and this off season my thoughts are, why couldn't he have just taken 1 more step from behind that hemlock tree! Why didn't I set up 10 yards further down that trail....WHY WON'T THESE BIRDS JUST DO WHAT I WANT THEM TO!! I guess that's what keeps me going back...
I like my turkey well peppered

At this point I just wait.  I know what my gun will do and after 29 years I have a pretty good idea as to what goes ion the vest.  Otherwise I research and scout new places to hunt and potential out of state trips.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
