Any one ever hunt Moose in Maine?

I was looking into moose hunts and was curious if anyone has hunted Maine DIY or guided.  Also how long it takes to draw a tag on average.

I've applied as a non-resident for 14 yrs  without getting drawn. I bear hunt up there every year and have talked to residents who have applied for more years than that unsuccessfully .

my hunting buddy (a maine resident) has been drawn 2 times since it started, his son was drawn this year after 6 years---they are going to float the Allagash river in a freighter canoe

his other son has not been drawn after 8 yrs

his hunts have been DIY
