I just finished reading this classic again last week. Buckingham was a premier contributor for field and stream in the 20's through the 60's. There are stories about ducks, turkeys and quail, but it was his 1926 Burt Becker custom double that was chambered for Winchester's new 3" shell that was his calling card. With 1 3/8 oz of copper plated lubaloy lead it would pattern 90% in one barrel and 93% in the other. THat was quite a feat in those days ...... This gun nick named Bo Whop is in the DU museum... a great read about hunting in the early 1900's in the south. You can buy it used on amazon
