New gun for next year

Looking to buy a new turkey gun next year. Really leaning towards the browning maxus with a 26" barrel. Anyone have any pros an cons on this gun and what choke an load combo is working good in them. Thanks

Excellent gun. Light and points great. Mine was the best patterning gun i have ever had and ive just about had them all lol.  Shot hevi 6's 3.5 inch in the 260 range with very even patterns with the hevi choke.

The all purpose model is drilled and tapped but only fits the base made by browning which is a terrible design. Luckily poi/poa were spot on so optics really arent needed.

You can try and have a picatinny rail made.  I tried with EGW but after several months and being jerked around by them I gave up. I lost all respect for Evolution Gun Works because of this so I checked into Murphy's Precision.  Murphy's will make a rail for a reasonable price so if you do buy the gun you can have them make one for you.

I had the maxus all purpose which is factory drilled and has metal inserts installed in the holes for added strength.  It's a great idea but with the Browning proprietary base it takes away from the gun.

Again though, it's probably the best turkey gun I've ever owned, and I shoot a sbe2 an 835,870 and a bps.

I had tried that also. It was awesome but...it wouldn't maintain zero and would run out of adjustment. The  was great but for some reason it just didn't work out. I finally gave up on the speadbead after several attempts.  Burris was very cooperative so I kept the fastfire 3 and put it on the browning base. It was functional but wasn't pretty.  And I like pretty guns

 So was the speed bead mount not holding up to recoil? That was my intentions for sights if I bought a maxus

I really can't say for sure, but that's what I think it was.  As soon as I installed it I fell in love, but after a few shots the dot began to move around.  After putting the ff on a weaver base I had no problems, so I figured the speedbead base was the issue. 

I really can't say enough good about the gun, except for that darn mount from browning.

I really liked the speed bead mount. A buddy has one on his dove/ duck gun. But those loads don't kick like turkey loads so I dunno. But the .670 seems like the choice of choke for the maxus?
