How does the sound of aluminum over glass compare to the sound of aluminum over slate?

I have found on several different calls aluminum over slate is a little more muffled and lower pitched then aluminum over glass. The aluminum over glass is gonna give you a higher cleaner pitch. This does change a little based on the size of the sound board on either one you use as well.

My go to call this year is aluminum over glass in a birds eye maple pot I assembled from brookside parts.  This call is getting birds to answer when my others won't.   Ironically it did not do well last year but it's a winner now.
