Finished up tags in the rain here Saturday. 4 Sumter National Forest birds and the wet one here at the farm.
Also killed a 70-80lb wild hog with 12ga 3" magblends at 20 yards.

Have worked birds on several hunts but unable to close the deal on mature toms with these two fellows. Had three toms in front of Dad at 30 yards but he couldn't get a clean shot. Did manage a few jakes on the last two hunts. Dad was more than willing to shoot his. Knucklehead had previously passed up on three jakes at 15 yards a couple weeks ago. With the season winding down here I got a different answer yesterday eve when I asked him if he wanted to shoot the jake that had slipped in at 25 yards. The smiles tell the story better than I can.
