We have a few guys hunting already. Who gets to start this weekend? Looking forward to seeing a few more pics!! The ute I was going to take out bailed on me for some weekend camping trip at a shooting range where his scout troop gets to play with all sorts of things that go bang. guess he figured that was a sure thing!

Since I struck out in Alabama  :angry9: I've got to wait til the 19th for our youth season.

I do, but I don't know what will happen.

Ive been out scouting about 12 days so far with another member of this forum I hunt with and we've only found 1 or 2 birds. We've had no acorns for 2 years now due to late freezes and there's been no food in the woods for a while now. Nothing has really greened up yet and all the birds are on private grounds where we believe people are still throwin deer corn.............

I did draw a limited entry permit hunt for next week in an area in eastern NC where i've killed a lot of toms in the past. Looking forward to next week more than I am this saturday. Took the next 2 weeks off, i'll find some.  :icon_thumright:

I thought about heading to VA this weekend, but that would probably be the only time I'd get to hunt down there.  Not worth the price of the license, so I'll wait until Friday.  Been hearing birds firing up big time the last couple days, and I'm starting to see lone gobblers out strutting late morning/early afternoon.

Its definitely time!
