I've hunted over both. I think the DSD's look much better than the Avians.

Got my first Avian feeder hen in today. I really like it. I thought blowing it up would be a pain, but it takes me 3 breaths to do so, which is manageable. I also have the Dakota Jake and Hen. Here is a picture of all three. The Avian X has a really nice iridescence to it. That's why it look bright in the picture with the flash.   

x2 have the same setup. Cannt see paying almost double.

Sounds to me like your procrastination worked out to your benefit on this deal.  DSDs are head and shoulders above the rest.  Much for lifelike, durable, and man I gotta say lifelike again, lol.
