so my original patterning of Longbeard #5's was done about about 45-47 degrees and cloudy a week back...the LBXR shot 152 and 169 in 10" today it was close to 60 degrees, about 57 and sunny at the range at the time...and for whatever reason it made a difference.  I shot MagBlends (which my set up really doesn't like never has pattern not even worth posting) the Hevi 13 2.25 oz #6 which again shot 200 plus in 10" and at the end I figured I'd swab the barrel with a fuzzy and give the Longbeard XR #5s one more try....197 in 10" with a Lead #5 WOW.  Bird crusher.  Definitely won't be afraid to shoot that shell right along with my Hevi13 #6 shot.  A little concerned that in 3 shells I could get 152 169 then 197 but maybe today's temperatures/humidity made a difference.  Enjoy.

looks good! Warmer temps+ slightly dirty barrel seems to be the ticket for those shells in your gun!

Great!  I got in the 170's with the 3.5" at 40 degrees, raining and dirty barrel.  Got her cleaned and waiting for good weather.  Got me excited now.

this is even with #5 shot...freaked me out to put up that number almost 200.  This barrel hasn't been deep cleaned since last year when I put it away, but I have swabbed it after almost every shot this spring...about 9 total now.

Very nice!
The addiction will cost you time and money and alienate those close to you. I can give you the names of a dozen addicts — myself included — whose wives begin to get their hackles up a week before turkey season starts and stay mad until a week after it closes.
