Got a ol cheap h.s strut ring zone slate was saving for my little girl for when she starts hunting left it out and she got it and left grease spots on from pizza hands is there anyway I can remove this it's 3 little finger spots I would scrap it but it has sentimental value and makes some sweet easy purrs

If it doesn't effect the sound of the call...then I'd leave the little fingerprints on it for a keep sake.  :icon_thumright:

Guess y'all are right will do it still sounds good just if you work the striker over the spots it's a dead sound

Nick, a little fine sandpaper or even hit lightly with steelwool should do it, but I think I would leave it as well.

I like to use alcohol pads from a first aid kit. Wipe it, let dry, then recondition with a scotchbrite pad. Works for me :)

Teebugg

Alcohol wipes then green scotch brite pad

stone road turkey calls

Put some corn starch on the spots about a 1/4" thick, let it sit 4 to 5 days then clean with lemon juice and finish with a alcohol pad.
