why remove it to shoot skeet, trap & dove, use it. With both eyes open it would be fast in acquiring a target and shooting. With a little practice it would be great. You could probably get away with removing the fastfire from its mount and putting it back on, but to remove the mount and the fastfire together you would probably have to re-zero it. If you remove the mounting base from the gun you will definitely have to re-sight it. To sight it in set a target 12 yards from you with a 1" square in the center, using 2 3/4" loads shoot at the square, adjust your sight so your next shot shoots out the 1" square. Use as many 1" squares as necessary. When you shoot out the 1" square move your target to 40 yards. using a 36 x 36" target put a 1" square in the center. Shoot your turkey loads at the 1" square. Shoot a second shell at another target to verify your pattern. Adjust your sights to put the tightest part of the pattern to center over the 1" square of another target. Shoot as many times to make sure the core of the pattern is centered. This procedure saves you recoil and turkey loads. good luck
