Who remembers?

Who remembers the man who often told the story of when he was young and momma said go kill that turkey? Can you tell me who it was and did you get to meet him? Hint..he was a big fella.

I was at a deer hunting seminar a long time ago and Ben Lee told about shooting at a
deer straight under him and shot his tree stand .
And he used a Auto 5

Yep. It was Ben Lee. He did have some odd ways about him but I'm glad to say I got to meet him a couple times. His story about "momma said kill that turkey" kinda stuck with me. Every year I find one of those old long spurred birds that have heard it all. After playing his game a time or two, I often fall back on Bens story and the bird usually comes home with me. Not by unethical methods, just by out thinking him and waiting him out. Hardly ever envolving calling at all. I enjoy that more sometimes than just calling birds in. Can y'all imagine what Mr. Lee would think of turkey hunting these days? Turkey hunting skills have come a long way, I'm just not sure which direction.

He also told of standing by his dad one morning when a bird gobbled. His dad looked at him and said it looks like there is one turkey gobbling and too many of us, so you best go find you a bird. Or some such.
His brother Feddie  is an outstanding caller as well if he is still tromping around in the woods.
