Mossberg 835.....660 vs. .690

I recently bought another Mossberg 835. Its got a 26" barrel. I was thinking of putting a .660 choke on it. I know that most chokes for the 835 are .690 or greater.
So is there a benefit to choking down the 835?
Whats your opions/results on this tight of choke.

.660 is too tight for turkey loads in an 835 or 935.  Believe me I know.  I have a .660 I bought for card shooting events using light load #8 shot.  I tried different turkey shells thru it and always got the classic blown pattern donut.  Turkey chokes for the 835/935 range from .670 to .695.  depending on the choke maker/design a .670 or .675 will give the tightest patterns.  However some prefer a slightly larger more forgiving pattern and for this they choose .690 or .695.  The current X-Factor choke Mossberg includes with their guns is .695.

Skeeter is correct.  Optimum patterns in the 835 or 935 .775 overbored barrels will be had with chokes in the .670 to .680 more than likely from my findings.  But a .685 to.695 will still shoot very well.

I really like my Indian Creek .675 even patterns. My SSX is .665 (i think) and it gets holes in the pattern. I agree with these guys. I haven't tried the IC with any of the new long beards but I was in the 140s last year with turkey thug federal 6s in 3.5"
