Debating between 5 and 6 shot in 3.5" longbeards.    Bps 665 IC.

Opinions?

I shot the 3" 5s and 6s in my .665" undertaker and the 6s out shoot the 5s by about 80 pellets.

Clint Shook

Do the fives give you more range or call it 40 yds ish and shoot 6's?

I'm having the same dilemma myself.  The 5s are decent 130ish,but the 6s 176 in 10" @40.  The 6s are really even with almost no gaps.  I'll probably go with 6s as I really don't see myself shooting past 40 anyway.

I'm a fan of #4's.    More energy at longer distances if your gun will pattern them.

If you don't go over 150 with a BPS and a IC .665 with the 3.5" LB 5's I would be very surprised. With that said, if you do get a good pattern it would be a no brainer to me. Definitely a little more wiggle room around 40 with the 5's.

After getting 236 with the 3.5" #6 load, I'm very curious how close to 200 I can get with #5's.  I'm gonna have to try em out and see :z-guntootsmiley:

Let us know how many you get with the 5's.

I'm getting 140's in the 10" @ 40 yards shooting the 3.5" Long Beard #4's thru my Benelli SBE/Jellyhead .655 setup.   :OGturkeyhead:

If you are into under 40 yards the 6s would be my choice; open fields, etc. and possible long shots then the 5s but only after knowing your pattern. These shells don't mind the tighter chokes as a 655 in #6s in my 3" chamber,22" bbl BPS is going to be my 12 gauge choice.

my buddies are getting good patterns with 655's in 5's and 6's.  I'm searching for an inv + 655 myself.

Clint Shook

Just bought the 5's.  3.5".
