SSX Question

I recently acquired what I believe is an older Truglo SSX choke (Ben/Ber). Comparing it to the new one I received from Truglo (after the first one swelled in my old Nova) it looks different. They both say Truglo TG155X but on the older one the fluting on the extended portion is flatter/wider and the threads don't go all the way up to the knurled ring. Also, it feels a little heavier that the new one. Is the older one U.S.A. made? Any thoughts? I tried to post a photo but it said the file is too large. Thanks in advance..

Thanks. I wasn't even thinking about using the replacement Truglo sent me. I'm considering using the other one I picked up in my new Stoeger M3000 because it seems better made. That's why I was inquiring about it, but I'm still hesitant.

My Supernova swelled a SSX and an IC Choke!!!  The only choke that didn't swell in that gun was my SumToy.

I had 2 SSX chokes swell in my 870. The company replace them and the replacement works great. I have an SSX for my Benelli and it shoots fine. Hopefully they have the problem solved.

It's called improper hardening and heatreating at the factory in CHINA.  While they throw some tremendous patterns, I have to say I have never been in love with the fit/finish of the SSX chokes.
