Alright gang, here is the results. I only had a short time to shoot today because I had lectures, but none the less I slipped away long enough to take a few shots with the new Longbeards and a few of my favorite chokes. All of these patters were taken from a lazered and taped 30 yards except for one shot, I decided to do a big no no and take a 50 yd shot.

The shells used are the new Winchester Longbeard 3.5 2oz 6's.
Gun is a Remington Super Mag 870
Chokes used, Sumtoy .650, SSX .643, Wrights .650

Guys, these shells like to be choked tight! I tried them in everything from .640-.670, the really shine from .643-650

William, If you read this post please pm me, we need to talk about these shells ASAP and choke constrictions!

I will say this, as far as I am concerned Hevi shot is done for!

The shells shoot very clean, not a lot of recoil for a 3.5, more along the lines of a 3 inch shell. They absolutely put a spanking on my Thugs!

These are the best lead shells ever created bar none! I only shot 20 shells today thru 10 different chokes, I wish i had more money, I would have sat there longer putting more shells thru more chokes to give you guys results.

Wow!  That 50 yarder is better than alot at 40.  That is nice to hear the recoil is manageable.

I've put a lot of time and work into this gun, I just wanted to see how it would shoot at that distance. All my shots are always 20-30. Honestly don't remember the last time I took a shot any further.

Nice, I like seeing the patterns at different distances. That Sumtoy at 10 to 15 yards would decapitate one!

it's not the harvest,it's the chase

That isn't really a 3 ounce load. That may account for dense patterns you reckon?
Good to know of the affinity for tight chokes. Can't help but agree that this shell has promise for lots of uses
and I am sure that buckshot and coyote loads are being considered.

LOL yeah I didnt see the 3oz mistake, fixed it! I just need to re adjust my POA/POI with the Dot and I believe I am good to go. Some of the shots I obviously pulled really bad on, just couldnt help myself, I was excited to try these shells and been stuck in the house for 3 months lol :funnyturkey:

You still think that they need to be choked tighter even through an 835? I had awesome results with a .690 Jellyhead at 38 yards. I believe a 195 count in the 10. Ive seen alot say that they love the .675 in Mossbergs. But those are awesome patterns brother. Winchester has really knocked it out of the park with these lead loads. 40 yrds and in they are cooked. These turkeys dont understand what fixin to happen? Lol
Where Lead Meets The Head
Should've had more sense than to try an call a turkey through a barbed wire fence

Well considering the back bore of the 835 mine really preferred a .670 for most loads. I never got to really push the limits with that gun before I sold it.

looks good, but if you pull the shot on the real deal at 30 or under he will take flight.  If you are only shooting 20-30 I would open up your choke and pattern.  No need for them to be tight. $0.2
