sorry for no pics but dont feel like uploading that many. shot the higher number chokes twice to see if they was consistant. I think .665 is where its at.

Was that .665 Carlson ported?  I wonder how many you'll pick up when the temperature rides!

No its non ported. after all the guns ive played with im starting to believe the $28 carlsons shoot just as good as those high priced chokes. My buddys m3500 shoots the daylights out of a primos tightwad.

SCDieselDawg

I believe it!!  If I can get some free time I'm going to start work on this 26" barreled 870 and put those 2 chokes I got from you to the test. I broke down and bought a box of 3" LB #6s while I was in Greenwood today. Between that 870 and a 835 I'll find a use for them.

3" 870 Shell Shucker

.665 seems to be a good starting point for most loads in a RemChoke barrel.  Some loads do better through a tighter choke, but .665 is always a good place to start out.

The best range for most RemChokes seems to be about .655 to .670

However, it appears that SumToy makes a dandy .650 choke.

Those LongBeards sure are doing the deal.  It almost doesn't matter which choke you use.

I also patterned the 3" Long Beard #6's thru a 21" Rem 11-87 and several chokes @ 60 degrees.  My best laser ranged 40 yard 10" patterns were:  211 thru a Kick's .655; 187 thru a Jellyhead .660; and 185 thru a Kick's .650.  I don't know how to post the photos but will be glad to text or email them if someone could post them for me???  Thanks. :OGturkeyhead:

The gun is an "Old School" Rem 11-87 in the Brown Trebark camo.  Also patterned the load thru the same chokes in an "Old School" Rem 11-87 in Original Bottomland camo with similar results.  Both guns have a 21" barrel and have had no alterations other than deep cleaning and polishing the barrels. :OGturkeyhead:

That 211 in a 10 @ 40 is what I'm hoping to get close to with my rem 870 21" and kicks .655. My best to date is low 170's with 3" Pb. If I can beat that..longbeards will be the shell I shoot.

Anyone know if the dimensions are the same on the barrels of 870's and 11-87's?
