Decoy on wheels!

I've seen web posts where guys try just about everything for decoying turkeys.  Attaching string to decoys while staked seems fairly common but what about a decoy on wheels?  It wouldn't be too terribly hard to reel in a decoy with wheels attached to heavy fishing line with a fishing reel?  One problem would be once it gets to the blind it would be done or would need to be placed back out in the field.  Another problem would be if a turkey happened o walk through or over the line?  I can see it now....trying to reel in a turkey that got tangled in the line!

Might as well get a RC truck and have it where you can run it around. Heck if you got a good one you could go way out in fields and probably make a tom go nuts. Lol ..  I am just joking

I would love to see the reaction of a field bird that just will not come to you for nothing.  Especially when he sees a decoy runing around.

Not on wheels but does the same thing you're looking to get done ;) I used it on a gobbler that would strut in the middle of a field for hours waiting for hens to show themselves or walk right out to him. I had the decoy sled setup in the woods so when I pulled the rope, it slide right out into the field & his view. Gobbler showed up, I called & called with no response. I was calling some more while pulling the decoy out on the sled & it got the gobbler's attention.  He went to full strut marching 130yds across the field. Within 10 to 15 minutes of seeing the decoy sled.......he died from serious head trauma.

As for a bird tripping or getting tangled in the line; if he's that close he should be dead. If your decoy & line is out of your gun range, then you'll need to evaluate your hunting set up :TooFunny:http://

That turkey sled looks like just the ticket!  I was thinking about it last night and there may be a way to rig stakes so you can pull it towards your blind.  Have a 2nd line attached to it that are spiked through 0 bolts in the ground that you could pull the decoy back out in the field?

I would be interested to hear if anyone else has had luck with the sled?  I don't have much experience with turkeys but on last years hunt I saw a couple hens watching my decoys for about an hour.  When they didn't see any movement they pretty much headed off!

Not hard to make at all :icon_thumright: A few of my buddy's have already copied it but made it bigger to support a pretty boy decoy.

callwinner11....it only cost 2 arms length of tickets for $10 at a local banquet :icon_thumright:

Sad thing is that they will sell a bunch of these.  Trying to turn a turkey hunt into a duck hunt...

I have done the RC car And the decoy on wheels thing and also have done the turkey reaper (Decoy stocking)for years but just never put it on video and made a big deal of how it works and that we were the only one that has ever done it lol. Like to see them do that on public land lol. They all work really good on field gobblers anything to get there attention.
I only hunt on public land now and it's just to crazy to use any of them on it.
