Hornady has a new load in their Magnum turkey line coming out in 2014,a 20ga 3" 1-3/8 oz #5 load.
I'm hoping that these shells might be like the Federal flight control loads,in that the wads in the 20ga shells might be more forgiving than the 12 ga shells, anyway I might have to try them just to see,I like the idea of a 1-3/8 load in a 20ga shell.
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

I'll wait for someone to do some testing first.  Their 12 gauge shell was just awful IMO.

you are not kidding about that , never seen a turkey choke shoot cylinder bore before.
And no, the mod. or improved did not work!

Hope they're better than the 12 ga junk they are selling

The FED HW 20ga is 1.5oz..
Hornady is my go to for high powered bullets ... but never have seen anything good from their shotgun shells. We shall see!

Hornady needs to stick to making bullets....

I totally agree, the 12 load was barely good for a squirrel load, depending on the price of them,I might pick up a box and try them out,if I do,I will post pics.

The 12ga was lucky to reach the paper at 40. My 22 threw a better pattern. i wouldnt waste my time with the Hornadys again.

I hear ya on that. I think they forgot to put pellets in my turkey rounds. When I got to the patterning board there were so little hits i figured they must be empty.

There centerfire ammo is on point.

If they are 10 times better than the 12 gauge loads................well they'd still suck :P

Hornady , I  think are  nickle  plated making them hard but  not  really groundbreaking.

I  would  think  pellet  count in 5's will be my only  concern in a 20 ga.

I  think the  only  load that  makes  sense is  the  FED  HW  #7  for  20 ga turkey  hunting.

You  get  pellet count and dense shot with good  retained energy.

i  have  always  considered  that  HW 7's  equal energy of lead  5's

The 12 ga Hornady loads are one of the most consistent shells I have ever fired.
Consistently HORRIBLE that is! :D
