We have had four warnings, leading up to the fifth and final warning...." The danger of Refusing God..." and it is very appropriate that the fifth ties in directly with the first...the danger of neglect...found in the 2nd chapter. We begin in verse 25 of the 12th chapter.... " see that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped NOT who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven!"
" Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only but also heaven." And this word, ( Yet once more) signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken, May Remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear....FOR OUR GOD IS A CONSUMING FIRE,,,
Knowing about God is one thing but Knowing God is completely another. So many know of God, and so many refuse to believe in God. And sadly it is the "refusing" part that will eventually lead them to Hell's Gates. Realizing that there are men and women in the Ministry to spreading the Gospel, many come to listen, and many refuse to listen. Some ask for Proof, others believe the proof that is seen through faith, some seek physical evidence when true believers walk in the spirit of the light and trust in what they know to be true in their heart of hearts.
Understand this thing, that God is a forgiving and loving God, that all He seeks is to be together with His people, that they seek to be with Him. But He is also a just and true God not only in acts of His forgiveness but also in bringing about "the removal of those things which are shaken" and that is the final straw. His love for mankind is found in His patience with mankind. And some may think that His patience is everlasting, but the truth is it is not, and after eons of time of man's refusal to believe ... there will come a moment when those things will come to an end. So take this final warning to heart, it is not one to be laughed at or scoffed, there will come a time when God will have the final word, when the earth and all that which has refused God, will come under His consuming flame, He will stand firm on His promises, as well as His Judgement.
