I have a 20 ga SA08. I love the gun and it functions great. I would imagine the 12 ga is also a good gun. It was designed based on the beretta 303/390 gas system, which to me is the best gas gun out there. Ive handled the 12 ga, just not shot it.

When i break down my 390 beside my SA08 it is an almost identical match. My beretta liked the kicks 660 with winchester extended range 6s or the indian creek 665 with hevi 13 6s ( the bronze shell)

You could buy an awesome Mossberg pump, or Remington pump with a pistol grip, red dot sight, and get an awesome choke and some hevi shot for your price range. Unless you're really wanting an auto loader, than I'd look at the Stoeger M3500 with the 26" barrel
