I wrote Senator Stab-us-now with my opinion of Obamas intention to put Andrew Traver in charge of the BATF. I informed that putting him is charge is like putting the fox in charge of the hen house.Her is here reply.

Thank you for contacting me about the nomination of Andrew Travers to be Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). I appreciate you taking the time to share your views with me.



The Senate is charged by the Constitution with an "advice and consent" role in the appointment process, which ensures that all nominations made by the President are thoroughly reviewed. I take this Constitutional mandate very seriously, as do my colleagues.



While I understand your concerns, I support this nomination because I believe Mr. Travers has the experience necessary to lead the ATF. He has received bipartisan support from colleagues who served with him throughout his distinguished career as Chicago's ATF Chief. Should his nomination come before me for a vote, I will keep your views in mind.

I got an email this AM from Senator John Boozman of AR.  His letter was much different.  He has an "A" rating from the NRA, is a hunter and votes in the favor of gun owners and 2nd ammendment rights.  Sorry to hear your Senator is a putz.

You're lucky she actually addressed your concern (although she's not going to do anything but vote the party line).  When I wrote to her about why I didn't like Obamacare, I got a form letter back asking me to contribute to an Obamacare support group she'd started.  Debbie is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and I understand she's considered to be "vulnerable" in the next election.  We can only hope!
