I was just wondering if everybody has more success right off the roost or later in morning.  I have shot my birds at eleven o'clock and noon.  Scoot

I've killed my birds all between 9 and noon since I'm more of a sit and wait guy.  If I know where they'll be coming I just get comfortable and wait em out, it's worked for me so far

I've taken them early and late morning. I don't move much from one set up to another because the places I hunt are small and if you move you'll bust every bird out. One of my best areas is only 12 acres.

Mid morning to mid afternoon. I hunt mostly public land that is hunted hard by a lot of people. I found that if you get on a gobbling bird early chances were that 2 or 3 other hunters where after him also.  On up in the morning I could slip back into the area after everyone had left, usually around 9 or 10 o'clock, do a little soft calling and sometime end up with a good bird. Sometime they would come in gobbling and strutting and sometime they would slip in without a sound. Sometime I ended up hunting a ghost and sometimes he goes home with me.  ;D
Spring turkey hunting, I love it so.                FREEDOM IS NOT FREE

I've done the most of my turkey whackin' right off the roost. I usually roost 'em  the night before , and get close to 'em in  the dark sometimes an hour before light , and get-er-done early. first 30 minutes after fly-down. then mushroom hunt and fish the rest of the day.....sounds like a great plan.

I kill most of mine early, just after they fly down.

Mine have been killed right off the roost. We can only hunt till noon, so getting it done early is better.

No trees were hurt in the sending of this message, however a large number of electrons were highly inconvenienced.

My solo Spring bird, was rocked right after fly down.

Either 1 hr after sunrise or between 10am and noon. I got a double with my father-in-law last year at 5:30 pm.

Here in Georgia I've probably killed 20 percent of my birds off the roost......partly because i don't really roost em the night before but mostly because the hens seem to have other plans for the gobbler.

I have killed most birds later in the morning with many between 9:00- 11:00 and a few towards noon.

The later in the morning I get on a gobbling bird the better chance I feel I have

Most years I'll kill a bird in the afternoon as well

In the west with Rios and Merriams ....  I kill many birds out there straight off the roost or within 45 minutes of flydown.......really I kill them at all times of the day
