I think the year was 1986 or 87. Didn't have a clue what I was doing. All I knew was that I got to be out in the woods with a gun in my hand.

I have it written down in my journal but do not have my journal with me, I think the first Turkey Hunt in the spring was somewhere around 1985 or 1986.
I know I got a fall permit in 1987 as we were watching the Twins in the world series on a small black and white TV in the campground

1996 or 97 I'd have to look that up. Killed first turkey the following year. Only took me one hunt to be hooked, addicted, obsessed, possessed

1999 I was 16 years old bare footed 7 decoys out callin up a crazy two year old ill never forget it

1998.  Was 31 and clueless.  If I heard a gobble I would freeze and mess my britches.  Nowadays, I carry extra britches.
