My first post. Great forum by the way.
I have not had any success this year in Vermont, however my son tagged out with 3 in the first week, one was during youth weekend. Here is a picture of his youth gobbler.
19.5 #'s, 8 3/4 beard, 3/4" spurs.

Just left Vermont after crippling a huge bird this morning. Really disgusted after the incident and sincerely regretful of the plight I bestowed upon the bird.
This was my first trip to VT to hunt the famous Champlain river valley. Not nearly as many birds as I had anticipated but it was beautiful country.
Best of luck to you the rest of the season. There's plenty of good hunting ahead of you from what I experienced over the past 2 days.
