They are good hard working guns that with any reasonable care should last a lifetime. All Novas are notorious for having heavy, gritty triggers. You can improve the trigger with dry fire and over time it will smooth out quite a bit.
The Nova/Super Nova, like the Winchester 1300-SXP has that "magic" forend that starts its rearward movement the moment the gun is fired, so some forward pressure on the forend is necessary to keep the gun on target. It's very easy to get off a quick second shot for upland game, waterfowl or clays with those guns.
I have a very early model Nova that's served me well for many years.
