Well today was opening day, went to spot with a plan in mind and hoping everything fell into place. Never heard a sound until almost 6 am, must admit I was getting a little nervous thinking I had chose wrong place to go. Finally heard a gobble quite a ways off, about 200 yds I would say, gave a few yelps and in return I got a gobble, looking good. Never gobbled much but every time he did he was closer, finally he gobbled just behind some brush that you could not see through so I swung gun to left to be ready, could hear footsteps in leaves, problem was they were over my right shoulder (damn) he snuck around behind me, he walks into field so I had to wait till he was in wide open to chance making move, after he stood staring at decoys for what seemed like forever he finally started walking right where I wanted him, I made my move and the rest is history. Roughly 1" spurs, between 9.5 10" beard and 21 lbs. Will post pics later when I get home. All in all first hunt of season lasted 35 minutes. Back at er tomorrow for bird number 2
