Ugh, Having trouble getting my 1st turkey. Need some advice.

YAY!!! Good perseverance! That's an exciting one, that first one...It's not the most exciting one though. There will be plenty more that will make you crazy and plenty more that will test your skills. I've been after them for probably 12 or so years and every season brings a few that are just like that first one...

Yeah I have learned abit from these birds from 2 different counties, here in KY. Much easier to them them when you have more land to cover. Callin them off another property, so you can take a shot is much hard to do with some birds. This I have learned from 2 different flocks. I did do what my good friend that has been turkey hunting for along time, told me what he have never seen ever happen, I called a Tom away from his hens and got him to cross a big ditch...lol He said all the Toms he had hunted would never cross a ditch for a call..lol I guess he even learned something new, also..lol Now Im not pro at callin but I do know my basic's and alittle bit of combo's on my lil duece glass call. I just need afew new and better calls and I think I might beable to get those harder to get Toms. And of coarse, more practice. And aton of practice on mouth calls because I suck at them..lol

Thanks so much everyone and a very thanks for the great advices. I took those advices and what I learned from my own mistakes and used it all and killed my 1st bird. And the largest dominate Tom, at that. Yeah Im still proud. Just wished so much that I could had showed all his glory but things dont happen as expected. Again, thanks for all the advices. I really mean it.
