How do the Turkey Thug shells hold up in the woods?

I have not tried them yet, but was wonderin if anyone has killed a turkey with them yet out to 40 yards,and with the the 6's,? Are they killers in the woods or just paper killers,just curious on what anyone has to say about the killing power they have, always had bad luck with lead 6's.

The 3" #6's anchored this youth day bird at 34yds, with a pile of Hevi shot I wouldn't load up the gun with the lead 6's unless I was confident they will smash a bird at 40 and save me a few bucks.

Always had really good sucess shooting lead 6's when I wasn't shooting Hevi

When I patterned my Stoeger 3500 and Indian Creek BDS choke at 40 yards I was getting between 155 and 164 in a 10 in circle.

I can't help you with a report on the 6's.  The 5's have done just fine for me this spring.  I killed 2 gobblers with 3" #5s out of a Mossberg 835 and a SSX choke.  No complaints at all.  As posted previously, these Turkey Thug shells remind me almost exactly of the old Federal shells.  They pattern well on paper and really hammer gobblers in the field (so far!).

Nice. What constriction is your IC choke. I have the stoeger 3500 and was looking at maybe buying some more chokes to try during the off season.... I would say that if they can drop a coyote I would say the THUGS shoot fine.....

Thanks guys,  the choke is .665 I believe.  The factory xft choke that came with the gun shot a little better than this choke actually but it bulged while I was patterning it.  Stoeger sent me a replacement for it for free, no hassle, but I plan to only shoot #4 buckshot out of it.  The choke never had any problems with it and at 50 yards I got 9-11 hits inside a 10 inch circle.

That is with # 4 buckshot.  I get between 155 and 164 in a 10 inch circle with #6 turkey load.

I killed a bird at ~18 yards today and had to thread the needle.  I ended up cutting down a 1.5" vine with the shot.

Last Friday 3" 6's @ 37 yards out of a Benelli M1 with Briley LF... he flopped twice

Killed 2 this year with 3 1/2" #5's. First bird I kind of misjudged the yardage, lets just say a shade over 40. Only flopped a few times and it was over. The second bird was 22 yards and it flat out leveled him, he never even twiched after I pulled the trigger. My combo consistenly puts around 130 in the 10" at 40 with the 3.5" #5 thugs with a few patterns around 140. I personally don't believe you can beat them for consistency in a factory lead shell.
