I have a 28" 870 SM and I have a .665 JH in it right now. It shoots great patterns with hevi #6 and #7 but I have 6 new boxes of the old remington hevi shot in 3.5" 1 7/8 oz #4. I have shot them through the same .665 JH and I get 120 in a 10" circle. I know that anything over 100 is plenty but I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with different chokes and hevi #4 in their 870. I was thinking about trying a slightly more open choke like the factory super full or even a ventilator just to see if I can get any better numbers. Any other recommendations or experiences would be welcomed. Thanks.
